happen or a city to raise a child. It's about making great things happen - together! HDSC is built by the people for the people that need resources and help!
We will be able to improve the quality of life for hundreds of people and animals in Hawaii.
We have partnered with over 80 organizations to develop a "one stop shop" to address & help Governor Abercrombie reach some of his goals concerning the homeless and job creation spoken about from the Hawaii State of the State Address just recently presented at the capitol. We humbly ask for the opportunity to come along side Governor Abercrombie and be the work engine to develop and enhance his ideas & goals for building a better Hawaii.
We will work in partner with 80 organizations to:
- Be able to incubate hundreds of start-up entrepreneurship companies & develop hundreds of jobs that never existed in Hawaii before.
- HDSC will help over 5,000 people in need (homeless, elderly, youth, veterans, gangs, or anyone that needs help. If your house caught on fire & got nowhere to go,
if you got kicked out at 101 years of age, or if a baby was abandoned, HDSC would be the place to go).
- HDSC is going Green - LEED Platinum
- HDSC will be a Civil Defense Site in Region # 9 to house over 50,000 people through a Tsunami or a Katrina Type Storm. HDSC will be a Disaster Relief Site. HDSC is 700 ft above sea level.
Japan earthquake/tsunami 3/11/11
There were 183 earthquakes around the world in the last 7 days (January 18, 2011).
If most of those earthquakes were in the Pacific Region?
If these Earthquakes or Tsunamis were at the right magnitude and/or longitude this could displace thousands of people and families in Hawaii like Katrina in New Orleans or Japan.
The big question is, are you ready? Is our family ready?
"Ua mau ke ea o ka aina i ka pono"..... "The life of the land is perpetuated in righteousness."
Our
Mission
To
Build A Better Hawaii - Changing Hawaii's Communities For The Better
now in order to
create a brighter future for tomorrow.
Nonprofits are corporations that produce jobs, stimulate the economy,
and promote more sustainable and vibrant communities. Nonprofits are
businesses that exist to fill voids that cannot or should not be filled
by for-profit corporations or government.
Executive Vision
(Video Copyright 2010 to 2011)
The
vision of HDSC is to improve the quality of life for the house-less
individuals (our civic duty) and families, the abused, substance and alcohol abusers,
youth, AIDS victims, veterans, prostitutes, prisoners and their families, the
elderly and other people that need assistance & resources. In order to improve their quality of life, HDSC first priority is to instill hope and life skills in our clients
by guiding them to live healthy and productive lives.
The bottom line is clear: Solutions to America's (Hawaii's) challenges are being developed every day at the grass roots and government shouldn't be supplanting those efforts, it should be supporting those efforts. - President Barack Obama, June 30, 2009
For many months now, Hawaii has
been going through a financial crisis like the rest of the Mainland US.
On Hawaii's News Channels and in the Newspaper we read and hear about
Hawaii kicking the homeless off the parks, beaches & now side walks - visit change.org & sign a petition to build a better Hawaii with the "Aloha Spirit"! Thus, improving Hawaii's people, cultures, Ohana (family), communities, health and wellness and our vision for a better future!
Our Dream
The
Hawaii Dream Service Center is a fresh and new approach that will
"Greatly Impact" the house-less crisis and help the people who desperately
need their dreams fulfilled. HDSC wants to do more than just pick
people up, dust them off, feed them, clothe them, maybe provide a 12
step program for them, and send them back out on the streets. Our
goal is to become a "One Stop Shop" and "Clearing House" to help people
fulfill their dreams in life and assist other community organizations to
make a difference in the lives of their clients as well. HDSC does
not want to take away anything from any organization, but do our part in
"Building a Better Hawaii Together".
Thousands of people can be
serviced at one time and as they begin to realize their dreams and move
on, others can transition from "Tent City" Program or our "Safe Parking"
Program into the Dream Center and take their place and begin to work on
their dreams. It is a never ending circle of dreams being made
possible right here on Oahu. The social impact on Oahu will be
immense, starting with each individual and going all the way to the
justice system and the Governors office. Unemployment will
decrease, qualified employees will increase, people receiving assistance from the different areas of
welfare will decrease and home owners will increase. The youth of Hawaii
will be able to vocational & employment train like never before
and give back to the school system and community. Future employees
and employers all over Hawaii, could easily come from the very clients
we train. It is truly a win, win program for State of Hawaii & our
future.
Leadership Challenge
Hawaii Dream Service Center (HDSC)
will improve the planning in the use of all community resources for
technical, vocational & employment education; to evaluate the programs,
community resources and services assisted under the State's system &
Federal system of standards and quality of life standards thus enabling
the Dream Center to measure and track performance for one year.
Together with community resources & Ohana Community Partners the Dream
Center will be able to reduce stereotyping, gender bias of different
cultural needs, race modification, national origin type casting, sex
preference and disability disqualification through education programs,
activity programs, community employment programs and internships, &
services to provide equal access to all ages & nationalities by electing
to choose career goals, objectives and programs that will best fit their
needs to stimulate "Economic Development, Workforce Education, Business Learning, Entrepreneurship &
Vocational Training", in summary the Hawaii Dream Service Center will be
"A Place to Build a Better Person, Family, Community & Hawaii Together".
A "True One Stop Shop" for the people of Hawaii that need resources.
If
we share a common direction and sense of Hawaii's Communities and
Future, we can get where we are going more quickly and easily because we
are traveling on the thrust of one
another and in one canoe, not thousands in different directions.

2010 New US Census
308,745,538 Million People in the USA -
2010 Hawaii has 12% growth - from 1.2 million people to 1.4 million people
In the first 11 months of 2010 Hawaii receives 6.45 million Tourists. Tourists spend 10.3 billion dollars
in Hawaii's economy, the number one money maker for Hawaii. The second
biggest money maker is Hawaii's military installations (150) with over
100,000 military personal.
Hawaii
is in rough times now, with a bad economy, $844 million fiscal deficit
for the next biennium, infrastructure issues, bond ratings, world-wide
security and safety in
doubt, education and budget downfalls, ERS solvency, personal and family
security in question, rising violence, GDP issues and rising
political rhetoric. We are seeing Hawaii divided over so many issues
that it’s staggering. We must remember
that a Hawaii divided against itself cannot stand.
The USDA released a new report showing record numbers of children in Hawaii & the US Mainland — more than 17 million—are
struggling with hunger.
From January to October 2010 (10 months) approximately 913,225 Homes were FORECLOSED in Hawaii & the US Mainland.
It takes a village to make the Hawaii Dream Service Center happen!

Today, Hawaii
is in a crisis with many problems - The Hawaiian Islands have
approximately 26,000 to 28,000 homeless with 10,000 homeless people on
the Island of Oahu. Hawaii also has a population of 4,000 to 6,000 men
and women that are incarcerated. Due to the high costs and prison
overcrowding, approximately 2,000 of Hawaii's imprisoned men have been
moved to Arizona. Also, there are nearly 8,000 to 10,000 men and women
that are on probation and approximately 4,000 kids whose parents are in
prison. Studies show that 90% of these kids will end up in prison like
their parents.
There are 600,000 to 800,000 (CNN TV 4/11/11) youth and adults in
Human Trafficking in Labor and Sexual Exportation in the U.S. Mainland
and Hawaii. Of this number 70% are female and half of that is
children.
Hawaii has 100 active gangs that have an overall total of 4,000 to 6,000
gang members (gang markings are in almost every community in Hawaii
with graffiti & shoes hanging from telephone wires). Every month,
one woman dies due to "Domestic Violence" & likewise, one person is
committing suicide. Hawaii is rated 5th in the US for the drug use of
Methamphetamine also simply known as Meth. Hawaii was once #1 for Meth
use. Many times the Meth. ingredients are coming from China &
India. Youth in Hawaii are having "Fish Bowl Parties" when they take
prescription drugs from home cabinets and dump all these drugs in a bowl
of liquid juice and/or hard liquor. The Oahu 911 receives over
1,000,000 calls a year. Hawaii reaches a $1.6 to $1.7 billion dollar
deficit.
Homes in Hawaii are 5 times the national average and rent is the highest
in the USA. Hawaii has over 6,500 public housing units and a waiting
list of approximately 7,000 people. There are approximately 10,000
people on section 8 housing & they pay 30% of their funds. There is
a 8 year back log for section 8 housing.
If the homeless are kicked out of the parks & beaches, where will they go?
We are telling you this story in hope that you can help us. There are
150 Dream Centers around the world. The reason why they call it a Dream
Center is because people can accomplish their dreams to become a
carpenter, electrician, chef, retail sales employee and etc. HDSC
offers 170 vocational training jobs.
We have over 80 organizations that have partnered with HDSC to make
this project work. We have raised funds for construction. However, we
need help from a great community leader like yourself for the purchase
of a 204 acre parcel in Kunia. The owner is in Japan and he is asking
$10 million dollars. Can you help lead this project forward to help us
purchase the land? We appreciate any ideas or feedback you may have
concerning our project to build a better Hawaii.
By
partnering with the Hawaii Dream Service Center (HDSC) a 501 (c) 3
Not-For-Profit, you can make a difference in your community. After 52
years of being a State, it's about making great things happen -
together!
