HDSC Services

Assessment Center:

Clients receive individual case plans developed from standard assessments for education competency, vocational testing, medical needs and more.

Case Management:

Each long-term resident works one-on-one with a case manager in goal-setting, monitoring finances, achieving objectives and follow-up on referrals.

Resources:

Vocational adult education is provided as well as ESL (English as a second language), budgeting, writing, computer skills, career counseling, life skills mentoring, housing, vocational training and employment programs with one year tracking and follow-up service.

Psychological Counseling:

Family and group sessions, under the leadership of a qualified counselor, deal with depression, anxiety, relationships, anger, abuse, parenting, and more.

Addiction Treatment:

Individualized counseling by a qualified counselor and 12-step programs are available on-site.

Disability Services:

Professional assessments are provided for people who are physically challenged and for those with learning disabilities.  Programs designed to meet the specific needs of these challenges will be provided on a daily basis.

Children’s Service:

Licensed childcare center with preschool, day care and after-school programs are provided  free of charge to residents, staff and volunteer’s children.

Chaplaincy Program:

The Ramia Center offers counseling and spiritual retreat services.

Meals:

Hale ‘Aina (a place where food is prepared) will serve approximately 2,190,00 meals per year, and up to 6,000 meals daily to residents and non-residents.

"Local Kine" Resources and Information Exchange:

Community agencies on-site and off-site to provide assistance and referrals. A "One Stop Shop" web-site and VHS/DVD/CD Library will be developed to help Hawaii's communities.

"Local Kine" Resources Programs:

The service unit is a "Local Kine" resource program to accommodate those who are unable to come  to the center.

  • "Networking & Relationship Building" Program - Building Friends

  • "One-Way Ticket Home" Program - Helping houseless get home.

  • "Business Center" Program - Helping the Non-Profits, Churches, & Organizations. 

  • "Tent City" Program - A place of transition for the houseless.

  • "After School" Program - Helping youth

  • Carl D. Perkins Career & Technical Education

  • Improvement Act 2006

  • "Safe Parking" Program - People living in their cars.
